How Our Online Design Process Works

Step 1 – Send Us Your Information

Simply send us your room dimensions, architect's drawings, existing plans, or a basic sketch of your space. Photographs of the room and any inspiration images you have collected are also extremely helpful.

Step 2 - Design Consultation

We will discuss your requirements, lifestyle, design preferences, storage needs, appliances, and budget. This consultation can take place by phone, video call, or email, depending on your preference.

Step 3 – Initial Design Concept

Using the information provided, we create a detailed kitchen layout designed specifically for your home. Every design focuses on functionality, workflow, storage, and aesthetics to ensure the space works beautifully for everyday living.

Step 4 – Review & Refine

You will receive your proposed layout for review. We then work with you to make any adjustments required, refining the design until you are completely satisfied with the final solution.

Step 5 – 3D Visualisations

Once the layout has been approved, we create realistic 3D visualisations that allow you to see exactly how your new kitchen will look before making any purchasing decisions. This helps eliminate uncertainty and ensures confidence in the final design.

Step 6 – Detailed Technical Drawings

Your final design package includes detailed plans and elevations containing all the information required by kitchen suppliers, builders, electricians, and plumbers. These drawings can also be used to obtain quotations from multiple kitchen manufacturers and retailers.

Step 7 – Move Forward With Confidence

Because Kitchen Plans is completely independent, you are free to choose the supplier that best suits your budget and requirements. With a professionally designed plan in hand, you can compare quotations accurately and proceed knowing that your kitchen has been designed around your home—not around a supplier's product range.

Independent Design. Better Decisions.

To begin your project, we will require:

  • A full set of original PDF house plans, elevations and sections as prepared by your architect. This allows us to accurately model the space, understand ceiling heights, window positions, door openings and other critical construction details. Floor plans alone rarely provide sufficient information.(Please note that we cannot work with screenshots, scans or photographs of house plans even if sent in a PDF format.)
  • A wishlist outlining your ideas, priorities, likes and dislikes.
  • A list of appliances and equipment you intend to include.
  • Inspiration images from websites, Pinterest, Instagram or magazines that help illustrate your preferred style and layout.
  • For existing homes, or new builds under construction photographs and a video walkthrough of the space are highly recommended.
  • Your contact details and telephone number, as we may need to clarify details during the design process.

Our goal is simple: to help you create a kitchen that looks exceptional, functions perfectly, and delivers outstanding value for your investment.
